Installation steps
- Download the driver package and extract (unzip) it. You need administrator rights on the computer to install it.
- Check your Windows type (Settings › System › About). On 64-bit Windows, run setup_x64.msi; on 32-bit Windows, run setup_x86.msi from the DP4500 driver folder.
- When the driver installation is complete, go back to the main folder and install HID Authentication Device Client.
- Restart your computer.
- Connect the DigitalPersona 5300 fingerprint scanner to a USB port.
- Test the device: open
C:\Program Files (x86)\DigitalPersona\Authentication Device Client\One Touch SDK.NET\Samples\Visual Studio 2005\CSharp\Enrollment\Release, run the Enrollment application and place your finger on the scanner. If the fingerprint is captured, the scanner is installed and working.
Common problems and fixes
Device not detected
Install the driver and HID Authentication Device Client first, restart the computer, and only then connect the scanner. If it is still not detected, try another USB port and message us on WhatsApp.
Light does not turn on

Driver install error
Run the installer as an administrator: the driver needs administrator rights. Use setup_x64.msi on 64-bit Windows and setup_x86.msi on 32-bit Windows.
Does it work with Windows Hello?
No. This DigitalPersona legacy driver is not recognised by the Windows Biometric Framework (Windows Hello). It is made for software that uses the DigitalPersona legacy driver, such as attendance, banking and NADRA verification apps.
